Tenement management shouldn't read like a law firm's timesheet

Most permit and tenement administration is routine, structured work — applications, title searches, statutory notices, compliance lodgements. It follows a known process. But it's often billed as if it isn't: a line item for every phone call, every short email, every quick review — and the cost can creep well past what you expected.

Taylor-Walshe works differently. One fee for the scope of work, agreed before anything starts. Routine calls and emails within that scope aren't charged separately — they're part of doing the job, not an opportunity to sting you for more fees.

What we handle

No two permits are the same — each has its own conditions, timeline and risks. Here's where we typically help.

Coordinating heritage surveys and Traditional Owner engagement alongside your technical and legal advisors.

Renewals

Due diligence

Due diligence & ground monitoring

Reviewing tenement standing before an acquisition or investment, and monitoring ground for newly available tenure.

Corporate

Capital raising & JV facilitation

Facilitating introductions, negotiations and support for capital raising, joint ventures and farm-in arrangements, drawing on direct experience across IPOs and international partnerships.

Operations

Work program, procurement & operations

Work program planning and procurement, field operations management, and approvals coordination — run alongside your permitting so the ground work and the paperwork stay in step.

How the fee works

A fixed fee is agreed for a clearly defined scope before work begins — a standard exploration licence application, for instance. Work outside that scope isn't free — but you're told what it is and what it costs before it happens, not left to find it on an invoice afterwards.

One number, agreed upfront No itemised billing for routine work.
No charge for staying in touch Incidental calls and emails within scope won't appear on your bill — that's just part of the job.
Clear scope, no surprises Anything outside scope is priced and agreed upfront — never just added to the invoice afterwards.
About

Twenty years in the industry, on both sides of the table

Ryan Taylor-Walshe has spent over twenty years in commercial and operational roles across the energy and resources sector — as Managing Director of an exploration company, in senior business development roles with international operators, and earlier as a geophysicist in the field.

He has founded and managed his own Western Australian mineral exploration company, handling tenure, technical evaluation and approvals directly — which means Taylor-Walshe is run by someone who understands what it takes to keep tenure in good standing, and who keeps you informed on how your acreage is tracking against your commitments and obligations.

I know how important it is to stay on top of your permitting and keep it in good standing — and what it takes to manage a tenement while keeping the budget under control. Your compliance, commitments and obligations are handled like they're my own.
